Which switch adaptors can I use with The Grid 2?

The Grid 2 supports a wide range of switch adaptors (devices for connecting switches to a PC).

Commonly used switch adaptors 

The following popular switch adaptors are supported by The Grid 2:

• Joycable (Sensory Software)
• Joybox (Sensory Software)
• Serial switch adaptor (Sensory Software)
• USB Switch Box* (Crick)

*Note that the Crick USB switch box is supplied with USB Keys sofware, which is not required for The Grid 2.  It may need to be disabled or uninstalled to prevent interference with The Grid 2.

Communication aids

These communication aids have built in switch inputs, which are supported by The Grid 2:

• Powerbox series (Smartbox)
• Tellus & Mobi (TNI)

Using other devices as switches

You can also use off-the-shelf devices for switch input.

• Computer keyboard 
  The keys F1-F8 are used.  This option has limited functionality (it cannot be used for Computer Control) as the keypresses can interfere with what you are doing in The Grid 2.
• Joystick or joypad
  You can use any PC joystick or joypad.

Switch adaptors that are NOT supported

The Grid 2 does not support any switch adaptors that emulate the keyboard or mouse.  This is because they interfere with what you are doing in The Grid 2 by typing unwanted characters or making unwanted selections.
