SAPI speech is not working!

If you are having problems with SAPI speech, you may need to reinstall the speech drivers from the installation CD. Make sure that you are not running any programs that use speech, and then do the following:

1. Use the 'Add/Remove programs' tool in control panel to remove Microsoft SAPI speech and any voices you have intalled.
2. Locate the speech folder on your CD. If the CD is from 2002 or later then it is: D:Sensory SoftwareSpeech Engines (assuming D is your CD drive). Earlier CDs have the files in the D: folder.
3. Run 'spchapi.exe' to Install the SAPI drivers.
4. Install the speech engines you want to use from the same folder. Microsoft's Mary, Mike and Sam are installed from 'msttsl.exe', and the Lernout and Hauspie languages are called 'english.exe', 'french.exe', etc.
