Error tracking with Sensory Software programs

If you have a problem with a Sensory Software program on your computer, we may ask you to run it in a diagnostic mode. This makes the program save information which can be used to locate and fix the problem.

Note that there is a new error tracking system now in place for The Grid 2.  If you have The Grid 2, please follow this link:

These instructions will work for most Sensory Software programs - in this example I am using Licence Manager. You should only do this if you have been requested to do so by Sensory Software, or one of our resellers.

  1. Open My Computer and locate the folder for Licence Manager:
    C :\Program Files\Sensory Software\ssUtils
  2. Right-click on "sslicence.exe" and choose create shortcut.
  3. Right-click on the new shortcut and choose Properties. Add " /dev" to the end of the target. It should now read:
    "C:\Progam Files\Sensory Software\ssUtils\ssLicence.exe" /dev
  4. Click ok to close the properties window.
  5. Double-click on the shortcut to launch it.

When you launch the program from the new shortcut, it will be running in developer mode.
Most programs will ask you to confirm the directory to run it from: you will need to change to drive C, or the appropriate location for your software.

You now need to do what ever is necessary to make the problem occur again. Once it has happens, dismiss the error message that appears and there will be a new file created in the same folder as the program, called "errorlog.txt".

Please email this file to Sensory Software for analysis.
