| We
have made a sample grid to show how you might want to control the TDK text message
software.

If you want to use our sample grid, download it here. Instructions for downloading and
extracting grids from the internet can be found in article
0019. Use of the sample grid
Simple messaging A symbol user may need some
supervision while using the phone, but sending basic messages to existing addresses
should be easy for most users.1. Select Open Phone. This will start
the TDK Mobile program. When you first start, someone will need to press Accept
on you phone to make the initial connection. After that, you can control the phone
completely from The Grid. 2. Select New Message. This will open a window
where you can enter the text of the message. For a symbol user, the Keyboard link
can be changed to the main symbol communication index. 3. Choose a recipient,
from one of the Favourite Number cells. Simplifying
the grid For a symbol user, the right hand column could be removed.
All that is needed is to open a message, and go to the appropriate grid to create
the text of the message. Adding a new number
Edit the cell and enter the number in the Text Output box. You need the
{TAB} key, followed by the number, followed by %s. Then put the person's name
in the caption above the picture. If you want a picture of the person, the easiest
way to get just the face is to use the Capture button, which lets you select an
image from the screen. More advanced control
Advanced users can use the menu control cells to take complete control of the
mobile. All functions can be carried out by scanning the menu in the same way
as any other program. Reading a message
Select a message from the Inbox, using the Menu grid. Read or Reply will open
the message, with all the text highlighted. You may then overtype it with a reply,
or choose Speak to hear it. Sending a number manually
Choose Send To. (This just sends a TAB character to move the cursor into the Recipient
box) You may then either enter the phone number, followed by %s. Paul
